Documentation: Toxic LNG Terminal?

19/01/2023

We hope this post reaches you too! We wanted to bring your attention to a video that has been making rounds in northern Germany – that we believe is worth watching.

The topic at hand is the recent arrival of the LNG terminal ship in Wilhelmshaven. The ship is turning liquefied gas into real gas, however, it is having a serious impact on the environment.

The cleaning process of the pipelines of the LNG terminal pumps several masses of chlorine into the Wadden Sea nature reserve every day. This not only affects the marine life in the area but also poses a threat to the delicate ecosystem of the nature reserve. The Wadden Sea is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to a diverse range of species, including seals, fish, and migratory birds. The damage caused by the use of chlorine in the cleaning process can have long-lasting effects on the area.

But there is a solution, and that’s where HASYTEC comes in. Ultrasonic antifouling is a non-toxic and environmentally-friendly way of preventing marine growth, biofouling and biocorrosion on all liquid carrying surfaces without the use of chlorine. This innovative technology uses ultrasound waves to prevent the buildup of biofouling, which is the accumulation of microorganisms, plants, and animals on the surfaces of underwater structures, hulls of vessels and also their sea-water pipes.

We highly recommend watching this video. ARDMEDIATHEK – HERE

The Wadden Sea is an irreplaceable natural treasure and it’s our responsibility to ensure that it remains preserved for future generations. The use of ultrasonic antifouling technology is a small but significant step in the right direction.

Let’s all do our part in preserving the environment and embracing cleaner and more sustainable technologies. #UltrasonicAntifouling #EnvironmentalProtection

Please share your thoughts and comments on the video or the topic in general, We would love to hear your perspective. #HASYTEC #oceanchange #fortheoceans #maritime #innovations #ultrasoundantifouling
